Ensembles

We teach Ensemble Group Lessons which include Choral, Band, and Orchestral Ensembles.

PSSM is proud to present our new Ensemble Program. This includes Choral, Band, and Orchestral Ensembles. Although private lessons provide the most direct attention for the student, and usually gives the student the most potential for fast progress; private lessons do not teach the student how to play in a group setting with other musicians. There is a world of difference between playing solo and playing in a group. This new Ensemble Program will provide a more social learning experience, all the while teaching students how to play in cooperation with one another.

Private Lessons

We specialize in one-on-one private lessons for students of all ages, levels, styles, and instruments.

Our students are provided with recitals, festivals, master-classes, and many other events free of charge! They can enjoy learning a variety of instruments from professional instructors who are talented and degree-certified.

Preschool

The Peggy Still School of Music is one of the few and first private music schools in Georgia who offer a Preschool program.

Kids do well when they know what is expected of them. Our preschool program offers one-on-one sessions that introduce your preschooler to music in entertaining, yet structured, half-hour lessons. Youngsters learn that music is meant to be fun all the while learning about the many different types of music.

What is Music Licensing and How does it Work for You as the Songwriter?

by Robert Marshall

music licensing pic

music (n.): an art of sound in time that express ideas and emotions

licensing (n.): formal permission from a governmental or other constituted authority to do something*

Music licensing is the licensed use of copyrighted music which serves to insure that the creators of the music are paid for their work. Every time you tune into a radio station, play your favorite CD or mp3, hear a song on TV or in the movies, watch a live show or even eat at a restaurant where music is played, you are witnessing the product of music licensing. A license, in this case, is “the right, granted by the copyright holder, for a given person or entity to broadcast, recreate, perform, or listen to a recorded copy of a copyrighted work.” 1

Getting a Job as a Cruise Ship Singer or Performer

cruiseshipshow

By Clint Clark

Have you been looking for a way to use your talent to earn a living and see the world? Consider becoming a singer for a cruise line. Working as a cruise ship singer offers a wonderful opportunity to develop your stage presence and singing ability, earn a steady wage, and travel to far off exotic places. While some in the entertainment business look down on cruise ship work, it is a consistent gig that pays far more than most land gigs. It is a great way to save money, pay off student loans, and see the world, all while performing nightly in front of audiences of up to 3000 people.
