Recitals and Advanced Recitals

The more you perform, the easier it becomes to perform. Recitals will help you as a musician work on your stage presence and give you an opportunity to perform for your friends, family, and other musicians.

Karaoke Party

There is a bit of a rock-star in all of us!

Here at PSSM we put major emphasis on attaining perfection through study. But that doesn’t mean we don’t know how to have fun! The Karaoke party lets students have fun and perform in a non-stressful environment with their friends

Open Mic

The Open Mic event was designed to give students an outlet for expression and provides them with the community as their audience by using local venues. Our Open Mic events are run by one of our instructors, Courtney Rinehart, who instructs piano, voice, guitar, and flute as well as song-writing and composition. Come take part at one of our Open Mic events and discover what musical expression is all about.

ABRSM Exams

The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music is the most popular music examination organization in the world. Each year, over 500,000 people worldwide take Associated Board Exams.

The Peggy Still School of Music feels this is the most complete program offered in the world. It covers the following: Performance, Theory, Ear Training, Scales & Arpeggios. and sight-reading.

Jam Session

We teach our students to not only play solo but to be able to play in groups – especially groups with various instruments involved. The Jam Session event was designed to educate and give performance experience to our students on how to play music in a group setting.

Masterclasses

Here at PSSM, we schedule various masterclasses free of charge for our students. Each masterclass is over a different subject under music and is taught by either one of our many talented instructors or by a professional musician from the music industry. We have had masterclasses such as Playing by Ear, Allstate Vocal Prep, Good Piano Playing Techniques, How to get a Recording Contract and Market Yourself, and much more.

National Anthem Performances

PSSM takes pride in the many performances our students participate in. One such is singing the National Anthem for sports games. During the beginning of the event, the students of PSSM go down to mid-court or mid-field (depending on the sport) and perform the National Anthem together. What a great way to be patriotic, gain performance experience, pad your resume, have fun at a sports game, or brag to all your friends!
