Dallas Austin is an Atlanta based songwriter, record producer and musician who has worked with such notable acts as Michael Jackson, TLC, Boyz II Men, Pink, Monica, Madonna, Gwen Stefani, Stacie Orrico, Another Bad Creation, Fishbone, Sugababes, Anastacia, Namie Amuro, Kim Zolciak from the Real Housewives of Atlanta and Mcfly.
He started his career as a member of the Highland Place Mobsters on LaFace Records before becoming a producer. He is known for his socially conscious works, such as TLC’s “Unpretty” and “Damaged.”
In 1992 he formed Rowdy Records with L.A. Reid. He has also worked in film, producing and music directing 20th Century Fox’s Drumline.
In 2003 Austin founded the Dallas Austin Foundation for Music Education, focusing on youth development through music. The foundation introduces youth to the opportunities that exist in the music and entertainment industries, while instilling high moral character and academic standards.
